AFC Leopards make move ahead of 2026/27 SportPesa League season

AFC Leopards have stepped up preparations for the new FKF Premier League season with a demanding series of friendly matches in Tanzania and Kenya as the club works to build a stronger and more competitive squad.

Ingwe  are currently in Mwanza, Tanzania, where they are scheduled to face Tanzania Premier League side Pamba Jiji FC before taking on Kagera Sugar FC on Monday, August 10.

Both matches will be played at CCM Kirumba Stadium, giving the Kenyan side an opportunity to test its preparations against opposition from outside the country.

The trip forms part of AFC Leopards’ wider pre-season programme as head coach and his technical team assess the squad ahead of the new campaign. The matches are expected to provide valuable minutes to both established players and new arrivals.

The club will then return home for another test on Wednesday, August 12, when they face FKF Premier League rivals Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

The packed schedule reflects the importance Leopards have placed on getting the squad ready before competitive action begins.

Leopards turn to Tanzania friendlies

AFC Leopards confirmed the Tanzania tour in a statement outlining the club’s pre-season plans.

“ AFC Leopards SC pre-season preparations continue; the team is in Mwanza in Tanzania for a series of friendlies,” the club stated.

The first test comes against Pamba Jiji FC, a Tanzania Premier League side that will provide Leopards with an opportunity to measure their progress against unfamiliar opposition.
