Pastor Victor Kanyari has left Kenyans talking after claiming that he is unlikely to die in one of his luxury Toyota Land Cruiser V8s because of the vehicles’ advanced safety features.
Kanyari made the remarks while addressing his congregation at Salvation Healing Ministry, where he revealed that he owns four brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser V8s and plans to add three more to his collection for everyday use.
Instead of delivering a conventional sermon, the controversial preacher spent part of his message explaining why he believes travelling in his expensive SUVs offers exceptional protection in the event of a road accident. His comments quickly spread across social media, with the video attracting thousands of views and sparking debate over the kind of message being preached in church.

Kanyari explains why he feels safe in his V8s
Speaking with his trademark humour and animated delivery, Kanyari told worshippers that the extensive airbag system in the Toyota Land Cruiser V8 makes it extremely difficult for occupants to suffer fatal injuries during a crash.
According to the pastor, the SUVs are fitted with more than 20 airbags that protect different parts of the body, including the chest, head, face and knees. He suggested that the safety technology wraps passengers in protection like a blanket during an impact.
To emphasise his point, Kanyari compared the V8 to a Toyota Probox, a vehicle widely used across Kenya for commercial transport and personal travel. He implied that occupants in smaller vehicles are more vulnerable during accidents than those travelling in high-end SUVs.
