How Two Suspects Were Arrested Over Kikuyu Robbery

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a robbery with violence and gang rape incident in Kikuyu after detectives traced them to Kamangu, where they were apprehended following an intensive investigation.

The suspects, identified as Kevin Ndereba Kilonzo and Shaban Warui Zainab, are accused of attacking a couple who had been involved in a road accident near Kikuyu Boys High School.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects allegedly approached the victims shortly after the accident while pretending to be Good Samaritans offering assistance.

The situation reportedly took a criminal turn when the two men allegedly attacked the couple and robbed them of their valuables.

Detectives said the suspects also forced the victims to disclose their M-Pesa PINs before allegedly accessing their accounts and transferring money.

Detectives Follow Trail to Kamangu

The female victim was subsequently sexually assaulted during the incident, prompting a wider investigation by authorities.

The case brought together detectives from the DCI Headquarters’ Operations Action Team (OAT), the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and officers based in Kikuyu.

Investigators began piecing together the circumstances surrounding the attack while pursuing leads that could help identify the people responsible.

The probe involved forensic analysis, intelligence gathering and the examination of information linked to the alleged fraudulent M-Pesa transactions.
